know about soap nuts.
WHY  Soap nuts are a naturally-occurring, backyard-compostable alternative to soap-based products, like detergents. We will reduce waste by considering soap nuts.

HOW  We can learn more about soap nuts here. If we want to give them a try, let's try searching for them on Etsy, and filtering for shops in nearby locations.
*Here's a good option if we can't find any others. Their packaging is plastic-free.
From subscribers Adrian K. and Martha W. on this tip:

Adrian: "This is stupid. If my electricity is from 100% renewables you are basically asking me to burn hydrocarbons instead.

TWW Response: Thanks for your feedback! Majority of our readers don't get their power from renewables, but will be sure to address those that do in the future

Martha: Burning candles release pollution into the air which one would wish to avoid. Really.

TWW Response: I was inspired by this article, which shares that, one to one, lighting a candle is better than a bulb. This assumes a few things, like a regular bulb is being used. I suppose I should have mentioned that using a paraffin-free candle, soy or beeswax candle would be best. I'll share that add-on in an upcoming email.

Thanks for the feedback Adrian and Martha!
