remember our 'krw'. **Hosted by Tap**

today we will

remember our KRW
(pronounced like 'crew')
.
WHY It can be hard to remember reusables. KRW stands for 'keys, reusables, wallet' and happens to sound like 'crew'. We will reduce waste by remembering 'our krw'.

HOW Before going out, let's ask ourselves, "Do I have my krw?". Then we can do things like refill our water bottles at water fountains or restaurants, avoiding plastic bottles.

Tip hosted by Tap, an app that allows you to find nearby water Refill Stations.

turn the oven off 5 minutes early.

today we will

turn the oven off 5 minutes early.
WHY Most ovens use CO2-heavy energy. But, they leak heat so slowly, food cooks even once off. We will reduce CO2 emissions by turning off ovens 5 minutes early.

HOW When we're cooking with an oven, turn the heat off 5 minutes before we normally would. Keep the door closed to keep the oven hot once off.

consider citrus vinegar for cleaning.  *Hosted by Green Indy Blog*

today we will

consider citrus vinegar for cleaning.
WHY "Certain ingredients in [cleaners] can be irritating to eyes & skin...affect air quality indoors...add smog to outdoors...and send toxic chemicals down the drain."

HOW We can "make our own simple cleaner by combining vinegar with citrus peels" we have leftover. "A study found cleaning with vinegar quickly wiped out the flu virus!"

Tip inspired by Green Indy Blog, an approachable resource for zero-waste living.
