From the Community From Subscriber Danielle H on this tip: I've heard a lot of comments about automatic dryers being worse [than paper towels] for the environment because of energy use...Is there any truth to these arguments? Our Answer: Based on what I know and my research, the energy it takes to make and ship the paper towels, and then the emissions they give off in landfills, altogether exceeds the emissions from the energy it takes to use most modern hand dryers, especially cool air dryers. Of course, if we all use 15-year-old inefficient dryers for 5 minutes at a time, this changes things! Thanks for asking, Danielle! | | |
