WHY Renewable energy is a rising power source that doesn't use CO2-emitting fuels. We will reduce emissions & support a growing market by considering renewables. HOW New services let us source clean energy without changing our electricity company or bill. Here's a good one and another. Or, inquire with utility providers. | | From the Community From Subscribers Mackenzie and Meghan: Is it still better to use liquid detergent if it comes in a plastic bottle? Our Answer: If we only are washing clothes made from at least 95% natural fibers, then it's probably better to use powder detergent from a recyclable cardboard box. However, if we're washing clothes made from plastic/synthetic material, like most athletic clothing, polyester shirts, etc., then it would be better to use liquid detergent and recycle the plastic bottle. The amount of microplastic that comes out of those washes is so high and heads into waterways almost immediately. A plastic liquid detergent bottle has a chance to avoid ending up in water through recycling, or will take longer to break down, allowing it to possibly be saved if there are ocean clean-up innovations. Here is an example of a liquid detergent that comes in a100% recyclable packaging. Thanks for the great question! | | | | |
